Dialysis device providing digital and safe self-care anywhere with remote medical supervision, replacing the need for full-service, in-clinic care.

What I did:

The founders of LiberDi asked us to support their idea for a fast and accessible dialysis process.

We immersed ourselves in health professionals environment and co-created with them to develop deep insights into their needs and workflows.

Finaly we designed product that professionals love to use because it saves time and maintain focus on the patient.

Full mobile access

The mobile wave hit hard, even healthcare professionals. We found it very important to allow acess to patiet’s data from everywhere, so mobile interface was a “must”, and there are some challenges:

Mobile screens generally limit the number of functions available at once and it is challemging for long and involved tasks. That's why generally tools leading to only hybrids and lite versions on mobile. But than, there are different approaches for each screen resolution which cause learning curve to be high, and will likely reduce a person’s effectiveness for a time.

Mobile-first approach was chosen. It means that mobile design, as the hardest, was done first. Once the mobile design questions were answered, designing for other devices became easier. Unlike classic approach we didn't put additional features to desktop version, so all resolutions were similar and included only important items.

Color coding to avoide mistakes

When you want to use colors as indicators, make sure that person you create for understands your color scheme and are not confused about the patterns they suspect but can’t discern.

In our case colores for dialysis exchange fluids are already used to avoide mistakes. So we just integrated doctor's offline color-coding expirience to our interface.

Tracking progress at a glance

Visual intuitive elements are easy to scan. So instead of just reporting the numbers we created visual summary to infom clinian about what’s going on and allows him to focus upon most important cases he needs to solve.
